‘Hottest in Bristol for cocktails, urban pizzas, and dancing’
A press release arrives:
Once shortlisted for the Great British High Street of the Year Award, Bristol’s iconic Park Street is about to get a £400,000 boost to it’s trendy and quirky independence as the newest and chicest bar opens Friday 7th April.
Other than rogue apostrophes and elevating Park Street to iconic status (well, The Botanist [no, not that one] might soon be moving into the buildings vacated by Goldbrick House), all seems in order. I wonder what this new chic bar could be?
is needed now More than ever
Owners have released images of the already prominent and to be completely rejuvenated Greenhouse venue opposite College Green (not so much of a mysterious pub name)?!
Ah, so it’s College Green, not Park Street. And you’ve really got to find someone who is better at Photoshop.
Hottest in Bristol for cocktails, urban pizzas, and dancing, owners decided to build on late night going hi-tech with new audio and visual which revelers will now enjoy until 3am.
I’m afraid that you’ve lost me now. Urban pizzas? Are those the kind that have grit in the stuffed crust?
That’s the reassurance to loyal fans but the real news is for tourists, passing the pub only a stone’s throw from all the major attractions; office workers, especially cocktail fans who might get excited by an extended cocktail list, 241 from 5pm every day; and, the on trend venue dareth say, ‘females’ who when all said and done, mean chaps as well!
This is beginning to get, dareth I say, unbearable.
It’s a design that oozes ‘we love craft’, a contemporary offer matching a whole new look and unashamedly replaced amenities (yes we’re talking loos)! It looks softer, urbanised with exposed brickwork and neon signs illuminating direction to the ‘POSH’ bar. Steam punk light fittings; a mural second only to Banksy; pre-bookable booths geared up for Bristol’s socialites; and an external welcome described only by image, scream ‘cool’.
New loos! Steampunk! Banksy! Socialites! This place has got it all.
It’s a VIP opening Friday 7th April, 5-7pm with of course free fizz (beating £14 a bottle Fizz Friday for one day only); craft tasters; live music; a meeting with the suppliers of Thatcher’s Hayes and Gold ciders; and a boastful preview of the swanky venue.
Don’t you mean Thatchers Haze?
“It’s about making a trip to Park Street being much more than the norm. Time to step out of ruts and routines, try some hero food – avocado brunch, gastro burgers, stonebaked pizzas (241 on Thursdays – and no need to bring a friend)!” said manager of eight years Neil Shorter. “Try any of our daily reasons to visit from impromptu quizzes to champions league.
Hero food, anyone?
“Just be aware the only thing we take seriously is our craft beer and spirits….”
God help us.
