Pub of the Week: The Steam Crane
The wind and rain of Storm Ciara provides the perfect excuse to head to the pub.
Emerging from hibernation and heading to the Steam Crane, the Southville local welcomes soggy travellers in with open arms.

Nested in between arts store Trylla and an alleyway, the pub has recently been repainted, no longer covered in artwork of ships on the high seas and instead refurbished in a crisp, white paint.
Stepping inside, the Steam Crane is spacious, with luxurious leather sofas and decadent wall coverings. A friendly bartender pours drinks at the bar as friends catch up over a glass of wine and freelancers work at their laptops.

As well as an impressive wine and spirit selection, the pub also has lots of local beers and ales on tap: Lost & Grounded, Moor Beer and New Bristol Brewery each have a drink to choose from. There are also a host of New Zealand beers to choose from, with breweries including 8 Wired, Deep Creek and Yeastie Boys.
Sipping on a rum and coke with wind whistling outside, it’s perfect pub weather, and the Steam Crane is a great local to escape the chill.
