Steam Cafe Bar
Laugh with a latte. Chortle with a cappuccino. ROFL with a real ale.
Every cafe and bar needs a USP these days. For Steam, now open on Union Street, it’s that until the room upstairs is finished, some of the UK’s best stand-up comedians play here three nights a week.
Riproar is the new comedy club calling this corner of Bristol its home.
is needed now More than ever
Their purpose-built performance space on the second floor of this former pizza restaurant is yet to be finished so for the time being, a temporary stage has been erected in the cafe and bar area.
Vivid red ceiling ducts dominate a room made up of long wooden tables and a few sofas.
Steam opens from 8am for coffee. Pizzas remain the stock in trade when it comes to the food with stonebaked pizzas costing from £7.40 for a margherita.
Evening activities can continue until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights, hopefully with a few laughs.
