Burrito restaurant closes after 12 years
A Mexican restaurant known for its signature burritos has closed due to “unsustainable operating costs”.
Mission Burrito say they are “extremely sad” to be closing their Park Street restaurant, which has operated for 12 years.
But the team say they will continue to run a delivery and events service.
is needed now More than ever
In a statement posted on a Reddit thread about the closure, Mission Burrito said: “After 12 incredible years slinging out burritos from our Park Street restaurant, we are extremely sad too!
“Due to unsustainable operating costs, we just couldn’t continue with a bricks-and-mortar location in Bristol. But, it’s not the end!”
Despite closing the restaurant, Mission Burrito has opened a new Deliveroo kitchen, to “continue to craft and deliver our signature burritos directly to your doors”.
The team say their catering services are also still available, where they provide burrito boxes, taco bars and Mexican buffets to events.
And they say they are also planning pop-ups at local events in the future.
Founded by Jan and Sharon Rasmussen, Mission Burrito opened its first restaurant in 2008 in Oxford, and the company also has physical locations in Bath, Oxford and Reading.
Popular in San Francisco, a Mission burrito is larger than the regular burrito and comes with additional ingredients.
