Dirty Burgerz – Restaurant review
Dirty Burgerz in Stokes Croft recently opened its doors, its walls full of graffiti art and menus promising delicious American burgers. Music filled the restaurant, which was quieter than expected for 6pm, and the atmosphere was welcoming.
As a non-meat eater, the ‘Dirty Vegan’ (£8) was a perfect option, consisting of a sweet potato and bean burger, vegan cheese, salad and vegan mayonnaise. Fries were ordered for an extra £2.50, as well as a can of coke (£1.30), while trying to shake off the anticipation of a vegetarian bean burger – so often a dry and disappointing experience.

After a short while, a waiter brought the meal over. The food was very tasty and the patty wasn’t dry, like most bean burgers, which was a pleasant change. Filled with gherkins, vegan mayonnaise and fresh salad, the meal was served in a diner-style red basket and paper.

The dessert menu does not offer vegan options, and the meal was filling enough and I was too full for seconds anyway. The dessert options sounded perfectly indulgent though: warm chocolate brownie with ice cream (£5), deep fried Oreo cookies (£4), waffles and ice cream (£5) and an array of milkshakes.
Paying for the meal and leaving the restaurant, the waiter waved goodbye with a warm smile. Dinner at Dirty Burgerz was an excellent, and very tasty, way to spend an evening.
