Bristol Cheesemonger sold to new owners

By Martin Booth  Thursday Oct 7, 2021

An award-winning food shop has been sold to new owners.

Rosie Morgan started The Bristol Cheesemonger from a trestle table in the corner of Hart’s Bakery, before setting up as a market stall, as a pop-up in the Old City, and now with shops in Wapping Wharf and North Street.

But the time has now come for Rosie to sell the business to two former members of staff who she describes as “epic cheese aficionados”.

Writing on Instagram, Rosie said: “It’s with great pride and honour to let you all know that I have decided to sell The Bristol Cheesemonger and move on to pastures new!

“It is a wonderful and happy opportunity and one that is made all that much better, knowing that the new owners are not only epic cheese aficionados, but also good friends and colleagues.”

In 2017, The Bristol Cheesemonger was named the best cheese shop in the UK, with its second shop opening on the ground floor of the Tobacco Factory in February.

Rosie said that new owners Jenny and Oli will continue to supply some of the UK’s best cheeses to Bristol and beyond.

“I have loved every single second of running my business in this brilliant city,” Rosie added.

“I would not be in the position I am today without the support of this great city and the people in it.”
