New cake shop to open in Old Market
Bodkin Bakes is a new cake shop opening in Old Market in autumn 2019. The store will specialise in bespoke cakes and sweet treats that cater for specific dietary requirements.
This is not a new venture however, as owner Daisy already runs cake tasting sessions for weddings and parties and hopes to start a takeaway service on the weekends leading up to the store’s opening.

Daisy, who describes herself as having “a load of allergies”, is well-versed in the struggles that come with finding alternative cake options that also look and taste good.

She has been baking for herself from a young age, creating recipes free from gluten and nuts before venturing into other allergy-free recipes to cater for friends’ (and later, customers’) allergy needs.

Bringing an artistic flair and passion to her bespoke baking, Daisy hopes to provide cakes for all tastes and tolerances, saying: “Anything you throw at me, I will try and bake!”
