New M&S Foodhall to open

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Apr 24, 2019

The site of a former Texaco petrol station that has remained empty for more than a decade has had a major transformation.

Marks & Spencer’s latest Foodhall will open on Whiteladies Road on May 16, with flats already occupied in the new building built on its Oakfield Road side to blend in with its Clifton surroundings.

Located opposite the Vittoria pub, the shop will be open from Monday to Saturday from 7am to 10pm and on Sunday from 8am to 10pm, employing 30 people.

Store manager Greg O’Connor, who has worked at M&S for 12 years, said: “My team and I are really excited about our new store on Whiteladies Road in Bristol.

“We’ll be working hard to provide outstanding service for the community and the new Foodhall will offer all the everyday essentials for the whole family, as well as seasonal inspiration and innovation.”

The new shop on Whiteladies Road will be the second M&S Foodhall in Bristol, with the other in Eastgate. There are also Simply Food shops in Avonmeads and Imperial Retail Park. Another previously located on Millennium Promenade in the Harbourside is now an exercise studio.
