Where?
Casa Mexicana has been camped on Zetland Road since 1986, serving up a top quality authentic Mexican experience with its pink walls, rustic Mexican furniture and cacti. The food is hearty, rich and satisfying as Mexican is meant to be, and regular trips to Mexico have kept the menu exciting and up to date. White Rabbit – Any 12″ Pizza Lunch

What?
Any White Rabbit Pizza with a plethora of choices; meaty, veggie, vegan and their award winning gluten free option. All the ingredients from the flour to the toppings are Italian imported and the dough is made in the archetypal Roman style. Wriggle strongly recommends trying out the Lumberjack Truffle Oil pizza and one of their excellent beers.
Where?
The White Rabbit has emerged out of the old Richmond pub opposite the Bristol Student Union, bringing with it a strong Italian identity that all the staff take huge pride in. Their rooftop terrace is ideal on a hot day, and accompanied by good music, a pint of Wriggle favourite Good Chemistry on tap, and, of course, their gold standard pizza.

Chance & Counters – Quickfire Boardgame Lunch

What?
Any Baguette (can’t go wrong with the classic Bacon, Brie & Cranberry, or a Chorizo, Cornish Yarg, Red Onion Marmalade & Mixed Leaves baguette, for the more adventurous spirit) alongside a session of a time-friendly board game such as Dobble, Rhino Hero, Sushi Go!, Jaipur, Tsuro, Hey That’s My Fish, Bohnanza, Red 7, Love Letter, 7 Wonders Duel, both lovingly served and explained to you by one of the in-house waiter cum board game connoisseurs. Where?
At the base of the Christmas Steps, Chance & Counters is steadily emerging as a gem in Bristol’s cafe scene. It’s drinks choice on par with some of the finest pubs in Bristol, tasty baguettes and attractive yet practical decor not what you’d expect of the stereotypical board-game dungeon. Undoubtedly it is the huge book shelf of board-games (See above) that takes central pride at Chance & Counters, with over a hundred board-games to pick from. Gently floating along the cobbled banks of the Welsh Back, The Apple is undoubtedly considered a cider institution. Whether you choose to sit on the canvas covered top deck, the wooden picnic tables on shore, or the sofas closer to the bar in the hull, you will certainly find the perfect setting to enjoy a late summer cider (and cheese) haze.

Where?
By day a coffee shop, bar and clothing store, by night all the former, a restaurant, events venue. The Ironworks is a passion project for Buster and Jackie, the husband and wife team who’ve brought a world-travelled heavy metal attitude to the cafe business, doing breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bristol Old Vic – A Ticket to The Rivals

What?
A riotous comedy of manners, The Rivals will be brought to life by director Dominic Hill (The Libertine) and stars Julie Legrand (Footballers’ Wives) and Olivier award-winner Desmond Barrit (The Comedy of Errors). The Rivals, Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s first and most loved play, will transport you to Bath in 1775 for a story which has been entertaining audiences for almost as long as our Theatre.
Where?
Bristol Old Vic is a cultural institution. It’s the longest continuously running theatre in the UK and following a huge redevelopment project, is now one of the most modern and comfortable with state of the art rehearsal rooms, a dramatically extended forestage and precision-engineered sightlines giving audiences an even more intimate theatrical experience. Plus their curation of plays and events is absolutely top-notch.
