What?
Pizzas don’t need to be piled high with toppings when the sourdough (from a 69 year old ‘starter’ – that’s a big deal) is this damn fine, and the mozzarella is this good. But if you’re feeling fancy then you can add any additional toppings for just £2 extra paid to the nice folks serving (which would bring the purchase amount to £7 instead of £9).
Where?
A new contender for the Bristol pizza crown. These fine folks have honed their craft from their converted landy, but having already graduated into a stylish location of their own – they’re now opened up in the new Bristol food hotspot that is Wapping Wharf, in a built for purpose ‘crate’ bang on the waterfront. Their pizza is made from slowly fermenting sourdough that has been rising for 69 years, resulting a light and airy dough giving it a distinctive taste. Their toppings are sourced from sustainable suppliers and change weekly.

Plumed Serpent Cantina @ The Old Bookshop – Any 3 Tacos & A Small Plate

A firm Wriggle favourite. Get down to the brilliantly quirky Old Bookshop on North Street for 3 Tacos (choose between beef, chicken, cod and mushroom) and your choice of any small plate to accompany them. Serves 1, in style.
Where?
The Plumed Serpent Cantina is very excited to announce a new stint at The Old Bookshop in September, which is rapidly becoming a hotbed of great food. Delivering their own brand of tacos, tortas, chips & specials, expect some PSC classics such as beef shortrib & red ale tacos or ancho mushrooms, side to side with new dishes like the Korean pork tenderloin taco. To wash it all down there’s a great selection of booze to try from the Old Bookshop Bar

BEATS is a true Bristol based street-food collective, created by a group of street-food traders. You can find a changing selection of them down at the regular Wednesday Bearpit Market – a wonderful foodie oasis in the middle of town.

Any 4 pints of Bristol Beer Factory craft ale (3 options to choose from) for just £10, unlimited. Expect live music later in the evening at the weekend and a cracking outdoor terrace to soak up the last of the summer sun.
Where?
From the team behind The Canteen and No.1 Harbourside, The Old Market Assembly is first and foremost a place for people to meet. Their aim is to create an environment where cultures collide and meld to create new connections between people and ideas. This runs through the design of the space and into the shaping of the menu, bakery and theatre and music.

Bagel Boy (Gloucester Road) – Any 2 Bagels & 2 Beers & Chips

What?
Welcome, Bagel Boy to their brand spanking new(ish) premises. While you’re welcoming you may as well enjoy a couple of bagels (any), a couple of beers (selected) and some fries to boot. It’s like a housewarming. But good. Long live Bagel Boy.
Where?
At the vanguard of a new wave of Bristolian food is Bagel Boy. Owners Mitch and Leo are the bagel boys – initially creating Bagel Boy as a pop-up in Shambarber, a barber in Stokes Croft – before finding their permanent home on St. Nick’s Street. And since then they’ve developed a cult following.
The idea is simple but original – freshly-baked bagels, hearty fillings (including patties that basically make a bagel-burger) and fries – all given memorable names such Party Boy and Lady Boy. The style is cool, with minimalist chipboard sides and Bristolian graffiti, and endearingly chaotic. The food is quite simply delicious.

Here we go. A homemade stone baked thin crust and delicious pizza, alongside any pint up to the value of £4. Hot tip: cool off in their fabulous beer garden, a truly hidden gem – lush, verdant and secreted away.
Where?
The Hope & Anchor prides itself on serving only the best in craft and real ales, fine wine and locally sourced, homemade food. On Sunday, they serve roasts made with free range and organic ingredients from local farms. They cater for all tastes and budgets and there are always vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. A real gem.

Make sure you say hello to Sy the owner and sample some of their fine selection of local ales and imported lagers.
