It’s a rare chance to catch these boys visiting from London and their Camden Brewery home, and they’re bringing with them some hard fought lessons about the burger game.
Where?
Smoking Buns is the love child of Chef Events, born out of a 2-year research and development project which saw them working the grill for some of the UK’s leading burger set-ups and trawling the West Coast of America in search of perfect ribs. The ‘Smoking Buns’ burger is a really simple affair, the right mix of chuck and rib steak, our own unique bun recipe, pickles, Frenchie’s mustard, secret sauce and not a lot else. Easy.

Smoke & Glaze is a nod to shared passions for Southern American cuisine. All their meats are oak-smoked and slowly braised in a secret stock to ensure the meat is full of flavour and falls apart with a hard stare! Their pickles, glazes and sauces are prepared from scratch to ensure their po-boys deliver a unique and irresistible flavour. No funny business and no compromises.

Kaedama @ Mockingbird- Japanese Ramen (v/m) & Extra Toppings* (BYO)
Usual Price: £8
On Wriggle: £6
What?
It begins with a garlic ginger soy sauce tare (“ta-reh” – the seasoning which defines the Ramen, in this case ‘Shoyu’), in their rich and creamy chicken & miso broth (or tofu and seaweed for vegetarians). Buckwheat soba noodles lead the show – starring alongside slices of Chashu, a marinated egg, toasted seaweed, pickled ginger, bamboo shoots and spring onions – with the home recipe burnt garlic sesame oil giving a powerful finish. Add 2 extra toppings (except extra meat or tofu).
Where?
Fresh on the scene. Brought to you by our friends Alwin & Christine, Kaedama is a Bristol based ramen restaurant pop up bringing you an authentic bowl of ramen with a twist. This is their first commercial venture in the fabulous Mockingbird Cafe in Clifton, where you can expect a stripped back Ramen menu, with an array of extra toppings and, crucially, BYO!
Sunday, September 4
Tuk Tuck- Any 2 Pan-Asian Mains & 1 Portion of Dumplings (BYO)

How about an evening of Seoul-searching with the guys at Tuk Tuck? Choose any 2 dishes of their stunning authentic Pan-Asian mains (we’re talking Banh Mis, Bibimbap, Kimchi Fries and Thai Red Curries), along with a portion of their Dumplings (choose between Duck or Vegan) to share. It’s BYOB – so you might like to take a few drinks (responsibly, mind) but remember to pay the £1 corkage charge.
Where?
Owners Quan and Alex have brought back a little taste of the street food markets of Asia. Expect freshness, speed and generosity from their dishes, served in a welcoming and laid-back environment. We recommend the Bibimbap in particular – a simple but effective Korean classic. There are plenty of veggie and vegan options available here, too.
