Fancy your skills at being funny on the spot? Maybe you’ve always wanted to give comedy a try but have never had a comfortable “in”? Well, look no further as the Bristol Improv Theatre is hosting its bi-weekly improv drop-in session this Monday. Led by a trained improviser, they’ll take you through multiple exercises, getting you to flex that comedic muscle.

Tuesday: Ukraine Fundraiser: A Bristol ‘Jazz’ Special, Lost Horizon:
Top Bristol promoters/collective Worm Disco Club take to Lost Horizon on Tuesday for a big knees-up in aid of those affected by the war in Ukraine. 100 per cent of the money raised will go directly towards aid for Ukrainian refugees. And not that it matters, but the music is going to be wicked, too.

Wednesday: Wax Wednesdays with Brickphone Audio, Cosies:
A little bit of wax goes a long way, and this Wednesday it comes in the form of house, garage and 140 at Bristol’s cosiest venue. Although this is Brickphone’s first night at the underground wine bar, they’ve been growing steadily over the last year and have built up a reputation for having some of the best in Bristol’s underground grace their decks.

Thursday: The People’s Comedy, The Red Lion:
Nominated for “Best UK Themed Comedy Night”, The people’s comedy is a socio-political themed night of giggles at the classically unassuming Red Lion pub in Redfield. With an ethos of ensuring that local acts get paid for their craft, the night is entering its fourth year of running – and there’s a good reason for that.

The likes of Tim Reaper and Bluetoof are headlining, with support from local rising stars Bex and Lilyhuu.

Sunday: Medieval Ceilidh, Southbank Club:
Who doesn’t love a good Ceilidh? For the uninitiated, it’s a traditional Scottish or Irish social gathering in which a big group dances to the tune of traditional Gaelic folk. There will be two experienced Ceilidh-ers AKA callers at the session guiding the newbies and ensuring that the experience runs smoothly. Oh, and they recommend coming dressed for the occasion, if at all possible.
