137 things to do in Bristol in November 2017

If ever there was a month to snuggle down in a cinema with a big scarf on, this is it. Afrika Eye, the South West’s biggest celebration of African cinema, arts and culture returns. Bath Film Festival is also back for another year, and becomes the world’s first film festival to achieve gender parity, with 51 per cent of the films on their programme directed by women.

Bristol also hosts comedy royalty in the shape of Rob Brydon, Simon Amstell, Richard Herring and Stephen K Amos this month, with the jokes also flying in thick and fast at some of the city’s many comedy nights.

It’s also a good month for foodies, starting with several Day of the Dead events on Nov 2, Cargo 2 will host a somewhat unseasonal patio party with all your local favourites, and the Bristol24/7 Autumn Feast on Nov 16 will showcase the talents of a group of budding young chefs being mentored by some of Bristol’s best.
