An Evening with Shagufta K Iqbal & Guests
Event to mark Ending Violence Against Women Day
Watershed: Friday, Nov 17 2017 7pm
It’s finally the weekend! Recover from the busy week by heading down to Croft Ales’ seasonal beer launch at Lakota this Saturday and enjoy an array of new beverages made by the Bristol brewery. Food will be provided by The Italian Sausage and you’ll find yourself back in the 80s with music by DJ Betus.
If you’re more of a thinker than a drinker, join local poet Shagufta K Iqbal at Watershed as she makes her debut on the Bristol literary scene with her fiercely honest collection Jam is for Girls. She’ll also be joined by a panel for a discussion aiming to shed light on the experiences of female immigrants.
End your weekend with a screening of Japan’s first feature-length anime, Momotaro, a wartime propaganda filmed recovered from 1945. It’s being put on as part of Watershed’s More Than Miyazaki Japanese anime season.
