17 things to do in Bristol this weekend – February 23-25 2018

This weekend is a real doozy for lovers of comedy, music, life, death and all the rest. (So a broad audience, then).

Kicking things off on Friday night, comic Ahir Shah takes to the stage at Bedminster’s Hen and Chicken with his political brand of humour. Read our chuckle-worthy interview with him before you go. Also on Friday, catch the 15th anniversary celebrations for Bang club night at The Exchange, with plenty of banging tunes on offer for this moody teenager.

On Saturday, Colston Hall host an all-grown-up solo acoustic session from Jake Bugg on the main stage, while the soulful Yola Carter is on at St George’s.

Finally, don’t miss the return of Life, Death (and the Rest) festival at Arnos Vale Cemetery. Sunday’s The Death Show promises to be a darkly-comic exploration of the universal truth of death and dying. And, while you’re in the area, stroll around at dusk to see the streets light up for Window Wanderland, a Bristol venture that has gone global.
