There are four festivals to enjoy this week: Festival of the Future City, Bristol Literature Festival, Circus City and Simple Things. The former sees mayor Marvin Rees’ annual state of the city address at the Wills Memorial Building on Wednesday.
Elsewhere, a new exhibition opens at the Martin Parr Foundation, Bristol Bears open their league season against Bath at Ashton Gate, and a surreal joyride through femme sexuality and violence comes to the Wardrobe Theatre.
