April can mean only one thing to music lovers, and that’s Record Store Day. Get the 21st in your diary as a night to camp outside Rough Trade on Nelson Street to snatch up all the special releases first thing in the morning, and be sure to give Bristol’s other indie records some love this month too.
The main events won’t take place until the Autumn, but to celebrate 250 years of circus the RWA are putting on a very special exhibition of art inspired by the big top. Photographs of contemporary performers sit alongside Peter Blake’s famous collages and drawings by Eileen Cooper, among many other artists. Not to be missed by anyone who ever dreamed of running away to join the circus.
Browse all the events below that have been picked out by our Editors, or see everything that’s on in April in our comprehensive What’s On listings.
