14 things to do in Bristol this weekend, July 27-29 2018

Bristol’s festival-every-weekend season continues with colourful BS3 favourite Upfest. As this is the tenth anniversary, organisers have pulled out all the stops to make it bigger and better than ever: don’t miss the new Simpsons-themed mural going up on the side of the Tobacco Factory as well as the work of almost 400 artists from across the globe.

Bristol Shakespeare Festival finishes with a flourish this weekend after a stonking two months of shows. Catch The Lord Chamberlain’s Men performing The Tempest outdoors on Brandon Hill Bowling Green, skip forward a few hundred years with Super Hamlet 64 and finish off with Natural Theatre Company’s Shakespeare Undone! at the SS Great Britain on Sunday.

We The Curious’ Festival of What If makes it a hat-trick, with hands-on discovery events, lively debates and talks by eminent individuals including British astronaut Helen Sharman to pique your curiosity.
