Bristol Pride announces 2022 festival headliner

After weeks of building anticipation, Bristol Pride have announced the headline artist for Pride Day and it’s a big one.

Carly Rae Jepsen, singer of Call Me Maybe and two-time Grammy award nominee, will be topping the already star-studded lineup on the Downs on July .

The diverse lineup already includes Alexandra Burke, RuPaul’s Drag Race Canada winner Priyanka, Bright Light Bright Light and Scissor Sisters’ Ana Matronic who headlines the official after party – and more performers are set to be announced in the run up to the festival.

Daryn Carter, Bristol Pride’s director of programming, said “We are so excited to welcome global superstar Carly Rae Jepsen to headline this year’s Bristol Pride Festival. With number ones in over 47 countries, two Grammy nominations and AMA’s Best New Artist Award winner, she’s a worldwide icon and outspoken supporter of the LGBT+ community.”

Daryn continued: “Bristol Pride is one of the largest Pride events in the UK and this year we have our biggest ever lineup as we come back together after two years apart. The headline set from Carly Rae Jepsen is going to be a truly special performance that marks the close of two weeks of events celebrating Pride, and showcasing our community across the city.”

The Pride Day festival will take place on the Downs on July 9, and will feature community groups and charities, the much-loved Pride Big Top, and a Family Zone as well as the huge array of musicians and drag performers across multiple stages.

Pride Day wristbands and tickets are on sale now from £7 and come with a range of benefits including free bus travel, discounts at on-site bars and food stalls, entry to after parties and more.
