For some, it’s a chance to raise awareness of cyclists’ vulnerability on city streets.

For others, it’s simply an excuse to get naked.

The World Naked Bike Rise returned for its annual visit to Bristol on Sunday afternoon, with some 100 cyclists setting off from the aptly named Full Moon pub on Stokes Croft and making their way around the city.

Traffic was stopped by marshalls to let the riders make their way through Bristol

Helmets were not compulsory

The ride made its way through Broadmead in front of many bemused shoppers

The riders leave Castle Park towards Prince Street

After being cheered on their way through Wapping Wharf, the ride headed towards the Chocolate Path

On the other side of the Floating Harbour, it returned towards the city centre along Hotwell Road

Cyclists looped around College Green and then up and down the ramps in front of City Hall
