Buy shares to help tackle the climate emergency

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Jan 11, 2022

The Bristol Energy Cooperative (BEC) has launched a new share offer campaign to help tackle the climate emergency.

The campaign, which aims to raise £1 million in just 12 weeks, is going to be used to develop more green, clean energy projects across the region.

The money raised will be going towards renewable projects in Bristol and the South West, including a rooftop solar array on Bristol Beacon.

“The imperfect outcome from COP26 makes bottom-up action on the climate emergency even more vital. By using people power, we can raise money quickly, install more low carbon technologies, and drive a green recovery for the region where locals feel the benefits,” said Andy O’Brien, co-founder and director at Bristol Energy Cooperative.

Set up in 2011, BEC has raised over £14 million. The share offer is open until 31st March 2022 – for more see: www.bristolenergy.coop/share-offer-2022/
