Creative lockdown: Kate Bowman-Openshaw
Kate Bowman-Openshaw is part of the ongoing Bristol24/7 Creative Lockdown series, showcasing how people in Bristol have been getting arty under lockdown.
Archfield House Nursery and Pre-School‘s outdoor learning ambassador has been making gardening videos for children while under lockdown.
Kate Bowman-Openshaw is on a “mission to keep children outdoors, active, inquisitive and imaginative” and decided to use her skills to create an outdoor-themed video every weekday during lockdown.
is needed now More than ever
“I have planned, recorded and edited a video of a new outdoor activity for every working day, at least for the next ten weeks,” says Kate. “My videos are mainly aimed at activities for early years children, but can be adapted to primary school age too.
“I’m no vlogger and only have minimal editing experience, but it’s been a great project and has kept me busy so far.”
Kate hopes that her videos will inspire children during the difficult lockdown period, saying: “I’m still going strong and still here for each and every young person needing some motivation to get outside and have fun, and for every parent who just needs their kids to be engaged and learning independently for a minute.”
