Five family activities for half-term week

We’re nearly at the peak of the half term week with Halloween still to come. Here are some activities to thrill your little pumpkins

Running Wild: Feed Bristol’s Holiday Club
Running Wild is a great opportunity for children to explore the great outdoors this half-term. From building dens in the woods to toasting marshmallows around a campfire there is something for everyone.

Halloween Festival – Bristol Zoo
A spooktacular Halloween event for little trick or treaters. Get into the devilish spirit with a frightening face paint and follow the Bewitching Spider Trail to unveil the hidden secrets of the Zoo’s creepiest crawlies.  If you are feeling really brave then venture down to the Terrace theatre to hear some creepy tales of All Hallow’s Eve.

Mexican Day of the Dead – Bristol Museum and Art gallery 
Join Bristol Museum in celebrating the annual Mexican festival ‘Day of the Dead.’ Create your own Day of the Dead inspired crafts, such as making skeletons and building shrines and learn about this fascinating Mexican tradition in the process.

The Gruffalo – Bristol Old Vic
A family friendly theatre production, adapted from the award-winning picture book, The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Follow the great adventures of the Gruffalo as the book is brought to life on stage for your little one’s enjoyment.

Pumpkin Carving – Whitehall Garden Centre, Whitchurch
No Halloween is complete without a carved pumpkin. All you need to bring is a can-do attitude and your creative cap, and Whitehall Garden Centre provide the rest.
