Preview: Hoo Ha! Festival 2017, Colston Hall

By Kati Harris  Monday Aug 14, 2017

Hoo-Ha!, Bristol’s only festival dedicated to children, is back and jam packed with a bursting programme of free and ticketed events as it returns to the Colston Hall from August 15-17.

Once through the doors, your little ones won’t let you leave until they’ve drained every last drop from the immense lineup of fun, frolics and festivities.

Workshops, free entertainment and participatory events will tickle your senses over three family-focussed days, from dino stomping to arts and crafts, storytelling to sing-alongs and everything in-between.

Plus the UKs only mobile, inflatable planetarium and a jungle rave.

Hoo Ha! highlights include a special appearance by popular presenter Andy Day, children’s TV legends Dick and Dom, and a collaboration between Bristol Zoo and the Bakehouse Factory for an all action theatrical romp of a show – Dino School.

Dick and Dom kick off the ticketed events for the festival in the main hall on Tuesday, August 15, with a performance full of madcap challenges and audience participation games.

Enjoy riotous fun exploring improvisation, rock and jazz and then watch your little one let loose and perform in The Fantasy Orchestra, culminating in a special performance at the Colston Hall’s children’s birthday party, the Nifty 150 Birthday Bash.

Open a book in The Lantern for some Moominvalley mischief and mystery or revel in Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes.  Explore the Pukka Bee Garden with bee games and awareness of flowers, bees, pollination and all things bright and bee-utiful, hosted by festival partners, Pukka Herbs and enjoy a right old giggle to Disgusting Songs for Revolting Children.
