Alongside the aquarium’s incredible display of ocean wildlife, daily feedings and engaging talks, there are even more reasons to sail over in half term. Put the peg leg to good use on the pirate treasure trail or leave your legs behind and listen to the ‘tails’ of a mermaid on Saturdays and Sundays.

This wildly inventive show swoops in with extraordinary puppets, original songs and ridiculousness and hilarity in equal measure. Based on the shortlisted laugh-out-loud book by Sean Taylor it follows the tale of an owl with camouflage powers who may not be quite as masterful as he thinks he is.
