Monkey World

If you want to travel a little further afield this summer, escape to Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre for the day. It’s home to more than 250 rescued and endangered species, and by visiting, your family will help sponsor the conservation of primates at risk. Highlights include guided walking tours of the 65-acre park, the Orang-Utan crèche and the cheeky chimps.

Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2017

The annual fiesta returns to Ashton Court Estate, with trade stands, fairground rides, and entertainment at Europe’s largest meeting of hot air balloons. More than 150 balloons will participate in the mass ascents, weather-depending.

Explore a new natural play trail at the National Trust’s Leigh Woods site, which forms part of the Avon Gorge Site of Special Scientific Interest. The trail includes balance boards between the trees, hollow logs, a woodland fort and a giant basket swing.

Jurassic Shark!
