A classic Christmas with Peregrine Clothing
Following their successful move from Leicester to Bristol back in 2009, Peregrine have established themselves as a successful local and internationally recognised brand producing slow fashion knitwear and outerwear collections, all made in the UK.
This winter Peregrine have got to together with local production company, Friction Collective, to produce a collaborative film that promotes both the Peregrine style and a perfect winter day out in Bristol.

“The film is a synoptic travel video,” says Morgan Barfield, Brand Manager at Peregrine and director of the film. “It gives a really beautiful impression of our city with some of the best hidden spots. We wanted to cement the connection we feel with the city and how it has inspired Peregrine’s design aesthetic, by paying homage to ‘our perfect day out’ in a short film”.
“Local companies including Milk Thistle and Pizzarova, were keen to be involved and we styled up a few friends and colleagues in our latest collection. The film unfolded very naturally, as we built on things we already knew and loved about the city in winter time”.

The classic Peregrine AW18 collection features cuddly fisherman merino wool jumpers, Millerain wax jackets, classic cable knit cardigans, beanies and scarves with several unisex pieces available.
The menswear range includes the recycled Benson sweatshirt, made from industrial cotton off cuts and plastic recycled from the sea and a zip neck sweater (this season’s big trend). With quilted gilets, bomber jackets and soft brushed cotton shirts added in, these contemporary pieces sit comfortably next to the more traditional items.

“Within the menswear range there is an emphasis placed on layering pieces, over-shirts or ‘shackets’ have been a strong seller for us this year and we have dropped them into premium fabrics like John Hanley brushed wool and Millerain Cambric 10 Waxed Cotton, to make them feel a little extra-special for the festive season”, explains Morgan.
“Our managing director and designer, Tom [Glover] loves the Hilton Wool Overshirt, it’s one of the more premium pieces from the range, which has been a best seller this year”.

The ladies’ collection features colour blocking jumpers, slouchy knits, oversized cagoules and contemporary equestrian style jackets, all perfect for wrapping up warm on stormy winter seafronts or a Christmas morning stroll!
“My favourite piece is the Ladies Oversized Cagoule”, adds Morgan. “I was lucky enough to get my sample this time last year and people always admire it. We launched it as a unisex jacket because of its voluminous shape that plays into the streetwear hemisphere and it has been selling well with both guys and girls”.

“This collection has been about reaffirming where we stand as a British-made lifestyle brand. We played to our strengths by using rich earthy tones, polished silhouettes and the same technical details that make us a reliable outdoor brand with a stylish exterior”.
With Christmas on the horizon which piece from the collection do Peregrine recommend for the festive season?
“It would absolutely be the Larsen jumper”, enthuses Morgan, “it’s a heavy merino knit inspired by traditional Nordic patterns, so it has a christmassy feel to it without being a throw-away festive jumper. We actually did a blog post about it on investing in an understated jumper to wear all winter. The jumper is available in Ivory or Navy with a beautiful Chevron design knitted all-over”.

“Our idea of the perfect Christmas is crisp, cold weather, evenings spent at the Night Market in St Nicks with friends, lots of orders rolling in over our Boxing Day sale and a few days off to enjoy our beautiful city at a beautiful time of year”, says Morgan.

“The Peregrine team is growing in Bristol, we can’t confirm anything just yet but we have had a few viewings of premises in London and in Bristol for a possible Peregrine Store in 2019!”
