Bristol fashion has a great mix of streetwear, vintage and sustainable fashion with a lifestyle that goes with it. Here are just a few of our Fashion Editor Emma Gorton-Ellicott’s favourites.

 That Thing

That Thing know their customer and they dress them well. The shop mixes streetwear and vintage fashion, stocking many other Bristol independents garms, as well as their own That Thing collections and upcycled vintage pieces. The current collection features strong graphic monochromes and cute pastel sweatshirts, t-shirts and joggers, cuddly fluffy pink scarves and the cutest mini velvet backpacks you’ve ever seen.

 Tezla Designs

 Tezla Designs make the most fun and fruity jewellery and accessories ever. From big, bold 80s inspired earrings, finger bling rings and cool brass necklaces all handmade by Bristol jewellery designer Terri Young at her studio at The Island. Tezla Designs are inspired by mid-century design, street culture and home roots, the designs always carry that Bristol flavour.

Neat Frontage

 Bristol’s own festival fashionistas create individual bold, bright and beautiful handmade garms mixing streetwear, sportswear and festival style into works of art. The latest collection plays with colour, textures, print, shape and style, experimenting with technique and their imaginations, Neat Frontage have created an inspiring collection which includes graphic metallic appliqued bodysuits, sheer oversized t-shirts, bright Mondrian style oversized sweatshirts and beautiful sheer kimonos all on a jet black base colour.

Dustbowl Vintage

 Holly Butterworth opened Dustbowl Vintage in 2012 (as a side-line to her husband Colin’s vintage paradise Uncle Sam’s on Park Street) after becoming really interested in vintage men’s clothing. It stocks vintage denim, workwear and military items with a focus on mid-century and earlier menswear. Holly also stocks a number of small independent brands whose products suit the style of the shop.

Loot Vintage

Loot rework vintage styles, eras and cultures into one big vintage melting pot. Transforming vintage items and moving them into the 21st century, customising Levi 501’s into skinny jeans, dresses from men’s designer shirts, band t-shirts into festival worthy vest tops and creating jackets from vintage blankets sourced from Venice Beach LA, bypassing the mass produced, poor quality and unethically manufactured high street corporates.
