Bristol’s new gender-neutral children’s clothing brand
A new children’s clothing brand has launched in Bristol – boasting handmade gender-neutral clothes all made within the city.
Moonlight Harp is founded by Phoebe Song, who wanted to create a new clothing brand that was kind to the planet and ensured that nothing in the process went to waste.
Phoebe also works as a counsellor and has seen girls struggle with body image which can have a great impact on
their wellbeing, and self-esteem. Inspired by Coco Chanel’s wild idea and strength to defy social norms, Phoebe hopes to give girls freedom in what they are supposed to wear.
She said: “I believe ‘Gender-Free’ can also help release pressure for girls to have to look perfect.”
is needed now More than ever
“Brought up in a very academic-focused family, I went to medical school and graduated from University of Cambridge as well as University of Bristol in Psychology. However, I still remember that there was once a little girl who never gave up sewing and still wanted to be a fashion designer.”
“I then worked part-time while making clothes. I opened a small shop in Bristol which I had for 3 wonderful years until I became a mum.”
With a focus on sustainability, all of the clothing is handmade by Pheobe using 100% organic natural fibres.
