From curtains to Christmas jumpers
Leading cancer charity CLIC Sargent has a range of snazzy upcycled creations primed and ready for mince pie crumbs
Fix Up Look Sharp is the charity’s dedicated clothing range designed and produced by fashion graduate Ruth Strugnell, Deputy Manager of the CLIC Sargent charity shop on Gloucester Road. The fashion line uses donated stock such as curtains, bed sheets and other unwanted fabric to design stylish pieces.
Ruth says: “I noticed so many clothes that weren’t getting sold, so I had the idea to start upcycling them, creating different designs, giving them a new lease of life.
“Upcycling is something I’m very passionate about, it encourages innovative, responsible and creative fashion and in this instance, will generate much needed funds for CLIC Sargent, who work tirelessly to help young cancer patients get the most out of life.”
is needed now More than ever
Commenting on the website launch, Head of Trading, Jeremy Lune says: “This is an amazing opportunity for the charity to raise money on a global scale. We’re hoping our online shop will pique the interest of fashionistas around the world and help the charity provide further practical, financial and emotional support to young cancer patients and their families.
“The Trading team at CLIC Sargent has been blown away by the great talent and determination displayed by Ruth and our volunteer designers in transforming various fabrics into a complete on-trend clothing line.
