The Fashion Front and Bzzaar combine forces
Two local fashionistas have come together to create fabulous fashion happenings in Bristol.
The talented Tail End fashion designer and creator of The Fashion Front project, Fran Rennison, has combined the designer collections from her successful annual Fashion Front show with the self-confessed jumble sale obsessive Beth Izzard, of pop-up Bzzaar events.
Together, these creative ladies complement each other’s innovative visions and support creativity in the city.
is needed now More than ever
Bzzaar create wonderful pop-up events in Bristol, uniting artists, designers, DJs and clothes hoarders in a funday bonanza. Beth Izzard came up with the idea to mix her passion for a jumble sale with a social event, bringing local creative minds together to showcase Bristol’s greatness in pop-up collaborative events.
The Fashion Front Bzzaar pop-up was a weekend event that followed the Fashion Front 2017 show at the SPACE creative hub on Old Market. Many of the gorgeous garms that featured in the show were available to buy at the Fashion Bzzaar pop-up alongside many other local designer’s gems and treasures.
All the beautiful creations were elaborately displayed, to suit the glitter fabrics, sequins, bright colours, bunting and amazing fashion collections from many Bristol independent designers, including Capes Capes Capes, Neat Frontage, Dollar Bill, Kokomo, Tail End and much more. Think of a festival fashion, jumble sale, art installation mash up and you are kind-of there. It was fun and exciting, it made you want to get involved….and buy everything…
The Fashion Front show did not disappoint either: there were so many local fashion designers involved. The collections were just brilliant and the atmosphere was electric, with so much love and support from the audience. “The fashion show this year was an amazing success! The show was bigger and better than ever before. At one point we had a queue out the door!” Fran Rennison tells us.
The Fashion Front also supports marginalised groups in the community. This year Fran worked with local young people with mental health conditions alongside Off The Record (OTR) Bristol, holding fashion workshops, where the students got to create their own brilliant fashion garments that would also feature in the Fashion Front fashion show. “The young people were so happy with the outcome and can’t wait to get involved again with the next project,” says Fran.

The OTR X Fashion Front collection featured streetstyle-inspired crop top and short co-ords, customised shirts and t-shirts and 90s skate-style panelled baggy trousers. It really was brilliant and so on-point.
“The Fashion Bzzaar was also a major success with a swanky opening party on the Friday night seeing models and bloggers alike filing through the doors,” Fran says “A few key pieces were sold from the collection in preparation for next year’s event.”

Will we be seeing more from the The Fashion Front Bzzaar in the near future? “The Fashion Front Bzzaar was something really close to my heart,” Beth Izzard says. “It was such a great experience doing a weekend-long pop-up.
“We’re so lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing designers in Bristol and to be able to showcase their talents was incredible. We were like a little family and felt so at home in SPACE. Franny and I were gushing with pride over everyone and felt super excitable the whole time!
“We’ve got something up our sleeves around Christmas time so keep your eyes peeled for that.”
