Hundreds of runners take to Bristol’s streets at daybreak
More than 400 people swapped their beds for running shoes at 5.30am on Friday to take part in the first ever Sunrise City 5K in Bristol.
The run started in Millennium Square and took runners around the harbourside, before heading through Queen Square and Castle Park, and then returning along the water.
It was the first time the award-winning event had taken place in Bristol, with many participants raising money for the When You Wish Upon Star charity, raising money to help grant wishes for terminally ill children.
is needed now More than ever
Event director Nik Emmonds said: “It was a fantastic first visit to Bristol and what an amazing turnout.
“It was great to see a wave of red travelling through this awe-inspiring city. Hopefully we’ll be back for an even bigger and better event next year.”
