New mural by Inkie supports men’s mental health
Every Talk Club session begins with a question: How are you out of ten?
That life-saving question has now been painted onto a wall in south Bristol by street artist Inkie as Talk Club prepares to celebrate its second birthday.
Talk Club is a talking and listening movement for men, promoting mental fitness by simply talking and listening with other men about what is worrying them.
is needed now More than ever
The community interest company was founded in the back room of the Bristol Beer Factory tap room on North Steret in 2019.
So it is fitting that Inkie’s new mural has been painted on its walls:
Talk Club now has almost 2,000 male members and more than 50 clubs around the world,
One of these programmes is run by Bristol Rovers Community Trust, getting football fans to talk more openly about their thoughts, feelings, worries and day-to-day gripes.
Talk Club co-founder Gavin Thorpe said: “We all love Inkie’s work. In particular he has such a beautiful way with words. So we thought we’d ask him to inspire other men to use their words and talk about their worries.”
Talk Club previously teamed up with Bristol Beer Factory in January for the launch of Clear Head, the brewery’s first alcohol-free beer which sees five per cent of its sales proceeds go to Talk Club.
