World Mental Health Day: What’s on in Bristol

By Clare Toner  Tuesday Oct 10, 2017

Tuesday October 10 marks World Mental Health Day, and many across Bristol will be getting involved, showing support and raising awareness. Here are a few local events you can get involved with:

LTA and Mental Health
Redland Green Tennis Club | Oct 10, 10am-12.30pm
Drop in to find out about the work of the club in creating a tennis and mental health recovery programme for a group of over 55’s with acute mental health conditions. The club is hoping to benefit from the Lawn Tennis Association’s Transforming British Tennis Together initiative – a £125m investment programme for grassroots clubs, aiming to double the number of covered and floodlit courts. They hope this will enable more people to play during the winter months – a time when the affects of being socially isolated can be felt most keenly.

Walk the Talk
M Shed | Oct 10, 11am

Young Minds Matter

The event will include yoga and spin bike taster classes, live music from Bristol-based performers and the chance to try out smoothies made by bicycle. Open to anyone aged 14-21.
