Got a spare £1.8 million?
The Lawns quite possibly has everything a house could have. Games room, wine cellar and expansive garden, the £1.8 million home is impressive.
On Hampton Road between Whiteladies Road and Chandos Road, it is currently home to a family who moved here from London five years ago. They are leaving, and have put the five-bedroom house on the market for £1,8500,000.
is needed now More than ever
The high ceilings, big windows and pale walls create a spacious, airy feel. The front double doors open onto a huge tiled hallway with seams of period detailing.
Though plenty of original features, including wooden fireplaces and cornicing, the house also has rooms that bring you into 2016. “It’s a real chameleon of a house,” says homeowner Alan.
They converted the dilapidated coach house into a sun room at the back of their home. Here you’ll find a much more modern surrounding, with white walls and exposed floorboards.
The house boasts a music room and huge games room hidden in the basement. “It’s a bit of a man cave,” says Alan. “When the kids have friends round or we have a party, all the blokes disappear down to the basement and relive their teenage years.”
With a house of this size, visitors are welcome. “We can fit over 100 people in the house and garden, and we often have New Year’s Eve celebrations here,” Alan adds.
If walk-in wardrobes and free-standing baths aren’t your thing, maybe the garden is. It’s one of the biggest in Redland, wrapping around from Hampton Road to Auburn Road.
It has a quick-drying all-weather lawn and a hard-standing area nestled under a beech tree, perfect for barbecues.
So if you have a couple of million burning a hole in your pocket, you know where to move.
