Snap up a home in Bristol’s much-loved Wapping Wharf

By Ben Wright  Tuesday Oct 8, 2019

Love Bristol’s harbourside? On the hunt for a new home that’s already part of a thriving community?  Wapping Wharf might be what you’re looking for as it’s growing and there’s a limited number of new homes for sale, including one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments.

Resident Hilary Truss, who lives in in the first phase of Wapping Wharf, is one of over 200 who already call this burgeoning harbourside neighbourhood their home. “Wapping Wharf is a real, established community now, a lot of us have lived or worked here over three years”, she says.

“I love living at Wapping Wharf because we’re so close to everything in Bristol which is important to us: the theatres, the cinemas and a host of restaurants. With CARGO 1 and CARGO 2 moving in as well we’re now really spoilt for choice.”

This burgeoning community of residents, independent shops, restaurants, cafes and many other businesses sits right in the heart of Bristol on the famous Floating Harbour; it’s part of the city’s cultural and leisure hub with the Arnolfini, M-Shed and Bristol Old Vic all within walking distance.

“A typical day for me starts with me popping over to the gym on Millennium Square and on the way out there’s always time to have a quick chat with the Eric, the building manager… I love the walk back as I often treat myself to a cappuccino and croissant at Assembly Bakery in CARGO 2”, says Hilary.

The CARGO development of shops and eateries located in converted shipping containers continues to flourish, boosting the area’s reputation as the place to go to find exciting restauranteurs and unique emerging independents. It even has its own resident barber’s, yoga studio, jeweller’s, fishmonger’s and a florist.

Hilary says: “I often go in and say hello to Hayley in the Mighty Quinns Flower Emporium to see what delights she has on offer; we chat about plant care and it’s always good to take some flowers home with me.”

Like the first phase, phase two of Wapping Wharf has been designed in keeping with the historic dockside location to reflect an industrial wharf-like character. Many apartments have balconies overlooking the new street scenes or internal garden courtyards.

Hilary, who lives on the top floor of phase one, added: “A cup of tea and a sit in our lovely roof garden is always welcome… The apartment is a lovely place to live, it’s very spacious. It meets all the criteria we really wanted.

“This is a terrific location and a great place to live. It really is the heart of the harbourside.”

Homes at Wapping Wharf are now for sale, with prices from £255,000. If you’re interested, enquiries can be made to sales@wappingwharfliving.co.uk  or by calling 0117 363 7839, or you can register your interest at http://wappingwharfliving.co.uk/

Wapping Wharf Living is a joint venture between developers Umberslade and Muse Developments.
