Bristol woman launches ‘green’ consultancy
Bristol-resident Traci Lewis has launched a new sustainable development consultancy, Sustain-Live, to help innovative local businesses who want to be a force for change – during Bristol’s exciting year as European Green Capital and beyond.
Traci says: “Many businesses – from around the world – are realising that through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) they can be part of the solution, whilst gaining real business value from their actions. At Sustain-Live we are providing training and advice for businesses who want to benefit from sustainability strategy and practice in the workplace, but don’t necessarily have the time or expertise to develop it themselves in-house.
“Many leading businesses are already proving that CSR makes good business sense; helping them to save money, motivate staff and develop their brand. We want to help local businesses learn and benefit from this innovation too.”
is needed now More than ever
Traci is working with other experienced local consultants across South West England – with whom she has developed sustainability programmes over the past 20 years – working for the Soil Association, Riverford Organic, Triodos Bank and Plymouth University, amongst others.
Her most recent project was to help establish the national Sustainable Food City (SFC) network and Food Plymouth city initiative, which will be recognised as one of the first-ever formally accredited UK SFC cities at a national conference to be hosted in Bristol later this month.
To help provide local businesses with more information and training on Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility in the workplace, Traci and her team are running half day workshops at the Engine Shed, near Temple Meads, on 25th March and 22nd April.
“Your staff will leave inspired and with a good understanding of: Sustainable Development and CSR, Global Reporting Frameworks & Metrics, and How to develop and integrate a workplace Sustainability Strategy; with tools and models suited to your own business,” says Traci. “A great opportunity for anyone who wants to become the in-house sustainability champion or expert! If you want to find out more do give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you.”
She added that, “One of the main reasons workplace sustainability initiatives fail is that the employees and other stakeholders don’t fully understand, or properly get behind, them. We aim to help change that; to ensure that Bristol businesses can really make a difference and be a part of the solution this year!”
