Educational and wellbeing service receives £75,000 investment
Leading Lights Education and Wellbeing have received a £75,000 investment from the Resonance South West Social Investment Tax Relief Fund.
Leading Lights is a not-for-profit enterprise founded in 2014 which gives children and young adults with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs more accessible support.
The organisation respond to the needs of SEMH children and young adults across Bristol, but is under pressure from universities, schools, charities and the NHS to provide a growing number of SEMH children with educational and emotional support.
is needed now More than ever
The investment will help expand existing outreach services and provide vital funding for the support projects. The increase in staff means that LL can look forward to a more sustainable future, widening their impact across Bristol and enabling them to focus on the needs even more Bristol children.

Leading Lights provide SEMH children with wellbeing support
Leading Lights have set up education and wellbeing services previously and the new funding will help create Glow, the first specialist hub for the organisation, based in the centre of Bristol. This will provide an inclusive space offering a number of programmes which will improve the welfare of more SEMH children in Bristol.
“We are just absolutely thrilled that this amazing support that Resonance has given us will allow us to help more wonderful children and young people to thrive,” said director of Leading Lights, Sarah Louise Hopkins.
The funding puts into practice Resonance’s aim to reduce poverty in the South West by investing back into the community.
Katalin Juhasz, Resonance’s investment manager said: “I am delighted that the investment from Resonance will enable them to develop their Bristol hub space and café, accelerating their impact sustainably through social investment at the right time”.
