Blind date: Dave and Lucy

By Bristol24/7  Monday Jul 10, 2017

We sent office worker Dave, 31, on a date with Lucy, 33, a biomedical scientist.

Dave:

Have you ever been on a blind date before?
No.

What made you want to go on a blind date?
It was something new to try.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?
That she was pretty and seemed nice, and quite relaxed for having had a stressful journey,

What did you talk about?
Bristol, work, the restaurant, friends, sports.

What was the atmosphere like?
Good – it was pretty busy.

Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?
No.

What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
She had a good sense of humour.

What do you think your date made of you?
Chatty!

Is there anything you would change about the evening?
Maybe eaten a bit later to have more time to get to know each other.

Did you go somewhere else after your meal?
For a quick drink as it was a school night.

Were there any sparks of potential…?
I’m not sure…

Will you meet again?
I’d be happy to meet up for a drink.

Lucy:

Have you ever been on a blind date before?
I have, through a very good friend. Totally random, but always fun!

What made you want to go on a blind date?
You don’t know what to expect. It’s scary, but that’s got to be a good thing.

What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?
That he looked nice.

What did you talk about?
A bit of everything – travel, where we are from and the places we know.

What was the atmosphere like?
It was very busy, but the staff were lovely and helpful. The food was amazing, will definitely go back.

Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?
Not at all.

What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
He seemed very genuine.

What do you think your date made of you?
The fact I arrived 15 minutes late (thanks, roadworks) probably made him think I was a bit of a liability!

Is there anything you would change about the evening?
I don’t think so, we had a good night.

Did you go somewhere else after your meal?
We went for another drink on King Street, but I had to call it a night.

Were there any sparks of potential…?
Personally, not for me. He was a very lovely chap but just not right for me.

Will you meet again?
I’m not sure, unless it was in a friends capacity, or at the Montpelier Bean Feast!
