Blind date: Harry and Bex
Harry Silverlock, 26, a virtual reality and film producer, tasted a range of local ciders with Bex Dudley, 22, a professional soap seller.
Harry:
Have you ever been on a blind date before?
is needed now More than ever
Nope.
What made you want to go on a blind date?
A taste of something a tad more exotic.
What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?
A cool rainbow punk babe.
What did you talk about?
Veganism… and marriage!
What was the atmosphere Bristol Cider Shop like?
It was sweet, Pete the cider man had a lot to say.
Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?
I’m always happy being in the present.
What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
Sometimes I ramble, but they listened to my ramblings – thanks Bex!
What do you think your date made of you?
I think I came across arrogant as I was nervous.
Is there anything you would change about the evening?
More free cider wouldn’t go amiss! I wish I could have stuck around for more drinks.
Did you go somewhere else afterwards?
Unfortunately not as I had to shoot. We’re going to catch up again though.
Were there any sparks of potential?
Perhaps, we shall see…
Will you meet again?
For sure.
Bex:
Have you ever been on a blind date before?
Nope.
What made you want to go on a blind date?
I’m just getting back into dating after a series of fairly lengthy relationships and it seemed like fun.
What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?
Relief mostly, as they were really friendly and came towards me with a smile. I was quite nervous so that put me at ease straight away.
What did you talk about?
Lots! Veganism, the ethics of honey, greenwashing, pink-washing, marriage and travel.
What was the atmosphere of Bristol Cider Shop like?
It was really nice, I didn’t know it was there but am glad I know now. The man who runs it was super friendly and very welcoming.
Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?
Not at all.
What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
They tell fantastic stories and made me laugh a lot.
What do you think your date made of you?
I’m not sure! I think we got on well, so hopefully all good things.
Is there anything you would change about the evening?
I don’t think so. I wish I’d eaten before so the cider didn’t go straight to my head.
Did you go somewhere else afterwards?
Nope.
Were there any sparks of potential?
We exchanged Facebook details and we got on really well, so I think I’ve gained a new friend.
Will you meet again?
I’d be surprised if we didn’t run into each other at some point. I don’t think there’ll be another date as such but they invited me to a couple of events and seems like a cool new mate.
