Blind date: Kate and Jon
We sent Kate and Jon to L’Osteria for their Blind Date. The wine flowed but did romance bloom?
Jon, 25
Have you ever been on a blind date before?
No, first time.
is needed now More than ever
What made you want to go on this blind date?
My mates Pippa and Amarit didn’t exactly give me a choice in the matter.
What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?
Oh cool, she doesn’t look like a crazy person!!
What did you talk about?
Everything from our favourite travels abroad to rock climbing and an entertaining discussion about parasites.
What was the atmosphere like?
Extremely relaxed and surprisingly normal.
Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?
Only when I was waiting for Kate to arrive and I was the only person sat in the entire restaurant.
What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
Well-travelled and fun outlook on life.
What do you think your date made of you?
Guess you’ll have to ask her, but most likely that I’m a massive dweeb.
Is there anything you would change about the evening?
Nope, plenty of complementary booze from the manager at L’Osteria – who was a great guy!
Did you go somewhere else after your meal?
No. Walked back into town and went our separate ways.
Were there any sparks of potential?
I don’t think so on my behalf, although when the restaurant asked the same question we told them we are getting married much to their delight!
Will you meet again?
Who knows!
Kate, 26

A great fisherman jumper with some pretty impressive biceps underneath.

Friendly and engaging… a little intense during a debate.

Nope. Great company and excellent hospitality.
What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
His motivation and drive.
What do you think your date made of you?
That I have good choice in desserts.
Is there anything you would change about the evening?
No.
Did you go somewhere else after your meal?
We were the last to leave the restaurant and parted ways with a hug.

A fizzle…?!

Maybe on a climbing wall.
