Blind Date: Tom and Eleanor
For Eleanor and Tom’s blind date, we had them meet at Joy Raj on Regent Street in Clifton Village for Indian food and drinks. But did they find joy with each other?

Have you ever been on a blind date before?

Eleanor: Nope, never.
Tom: Yeah.
What made you want to go on this blind date?
Eleanor: My work mate thought I should tikka chance and see who’d be cumin.
Tom: Crushing loneliness and free stuff.
What were your first thoughts when you saw your date?
Eleanor: He looked like raita nice guy.
Tom: What a handsome woman. Her leather jacket is better than my leather jacket. Gin.
What did you talk about?
Eleanor: Lots of general life things, there was no saag in the conversation.
Tom: The Netherlands and other things.
What was the atmosphere like?
Eleanor: Good, the food was dhalicious.
Tom: Quite cave-like, as it’s below ground level, but in a cosy, romantic kind of way. Really nice waiers, too.
Any moments when you wished you were somewhere else?
Eleanor: Naan that I can think of.
Tom: Nah.
What would you say is the best characteristic of your date?
Eleanor: He was really chaaty so was very good company.
Tom: Up for a laugh. A bit silly (in a good way). Leather jacket. Nice hair. Gin.
What do you think your date made of you?
Eleanor: No idea, but hopefully he didn’t think I was as bland as a korma.
Tom: Probably thought I was a strange, little man – and she’d be right.
Is there anything you would change about the evening?
Eleanor: Not really. Joy Raj was joyful.
Tom: More gin?
Did you go somewhere else after your meal?
Eleanor: We chapati’d ways after the meal.
Tom: Yeah, but not with the date.
Were there any sparks of potential?
Eleanor: He was lovely but the chemistry between us wasn’t quite as hot as madras.
Tom: I don’t reckon so.
Will you meet again?
Eleanor: Probably not, but I’ll definitely wave aloo if I see him around.
Tom: Not intentionally. We didn’t exchange deets.
