Love line
I’ve been hurt one too many times and I’m at a loss as to how to find someone to love. How can I discover my one true love… in Bristol?
First of all, well done for narrowing your search parameters to Bristol. Bristol is a fine place for such a lofty quest. Are you wanting a beardy musical one? Try Gloucester Road. A flat white media type? Maybe the Watershed. A grow-your-own organic sort? The allotments down Windmill Hill perhaps. Place yourself around the city accordingly and wait for the magic to happen.
Alternatively, throw out the Disney handbook ‘Finding your one true love’ and accept that this ‘one’ doesn’t exist. How could anyone ever measure up to it? No one single person can bring you everything you need and it’s unfair to ask them to. So let’s talk about the one you’ll end up with. It may be the friend whose small gestures evolve into something meaningful; the one at work you have nothing in common with but makes you laugh; the surprise introduction you invite for coffee on a whim.
In the meantime, you say you’re looking for someone to love? Someone perfect? How about you. Make life great and take time to heal. Do things you love, spend time with people who think you’re amazing, try different things and make new friends. The one who finds their way into this wonderful world of you, who you decide to make space for, that’s one who’s definitely worth a go. And you never know, they might just turn out to be your happily ever after.
