Head to West Country Games for a hilarious activity day out

By Bristol24/7  Tuesday Feb 22, 2022

West Country Games is a hilarious, themed activity day perfect for any Bristol hen weekend, stag weekend or birthday get together.

This totally unique group activity day has been running for 11 years and has become one of the most popular group activity days in the whole region, with up to 500 people taking part on Saturdays throughout the year.

Featuring a range of large inflatables, catapults and fat suits, there are nine hilarious games, including West Country Wipeout, The Cider Run, Vicky Pollard Handbags and Wurzel Knockout to name a few.

To ensure a personalised experience, each group is guided by a friendly Activity Host.  This means your group takes part in each game by themselves.  The hosts will also take lots of group photos throughout the day.

Each of the games is extremely inclusive, and adults of all ages and physical abilities can take part.

Points mean prizes and your Activity Host will keep tabs on the scores.  A winner is declared at the conclusion in a prize-giving ceremony, allowing for plenty of competitive fun.

Fancy dress is extremely popular and always adds to the fun when hundreds of people dress in their West Country finest to mark this special occasion.

Events take place outdoors on Saturdays at Gatcombe Farm, Flax Bourton from March to October.  From November to February, the fun switches indoors to Patchway Community School.

Following the event, there is plenty of tasty West Country food and drink to sample, provided by The Greedy Goose farm restaurant next door to the games arena.

The farm paddock opposite the restaurant is home to some of the cutest animals in the West, and perfect for petting opportunities!

The whole set-up is a fantastic way for people to get into the countryside amongst a fun and friendly atmosphere and forms the perfect ice breaker for any stag or hen weekend.

Sessions start at 10:30am and 1:30pm on Saturdays and the fun goes on for 2-3 hours.

The games are based only 5 miles from Bristol city centre and cost £42.50 per person.  Just a £50 initial deposit is required to book in your group.

And the fun doesn’t have to stop here!  West Country Games’ sister activity Welsh Games operates just across the bridge, perfect for any Cardiff hen weekend, stag weekend or other social get together.
