A new silversmithing and jewellery-making studio has opened in south Bristol.

The space is owned by Bethany Morton, who has been silversmithing around full-time work for the last six years.
is needed now More than ever
“I wanted to bring jewellers and silversmiths together by providing a space for sharing ideas, learning, and improving our craft,” said the 31-year-old who lives in Knowle West.
“By doing so, we can make the industry more accessible and share our knowledge with others.”

The space, which she has opened through the council’s vacant commercial property grant scheme, includes private studios for resident makers, a shared workshop space and a gallery.
It also runs classes such as ring and pendant making for various levels including beginners.

Bethany added: “I want it to become a really vibrant, useful space for the community of Bedminster and the jewellery-making community in Bristol.
“I want to bring everyone together and elevate the profile of the jewellery-making community in Bristol.
“It’s a really empowering and elemental craft; it’s physical and messy, but then you create something really beautiful at the end.”
