Popular east Bristol market to return

By Mickey Grant  Friday Mar 3, 2023

After a nearly five-year hiatus, the popular BS5 Market will make a return later this year with new organisers and a new indoor venue.

The market will host a range of indoor stalls, food trucks and entertainment, as well as a fully stocked bar from Espensen Spirit.

The first market will take place on Sunday, May 7 from midday to 4pm at the Beehive Center, located on the edge of St George’s Park on Stretford Road, and will then take place on the first Sunday of every month after that.

Sam Espensen has teamed up with two members of the Beehive Centre, Amber and Maddie Williams, to relaunch the market.

Sam said: “I’m really happy to be part of the team bringing it back to life. One of the only issues with the original market was the weather.

“So, it’s fantastic to be able to host the new version of the market indoors and year-round, in such a wonderful location as the Beehive Centre.”

Maddie Williams added: ”We’re lucky to have a fantastic bunch of talented makers and producers in BS5 that we can’t wait to showcase at the new market.’

”The Beehive can provide the perfect space for welcoming the local and wider community of Bristol.”
