Whether it’s Lego or liquid, advent calendars are big business these days, with designs getting ever more elaborate.
In my own house, we now have a Lego collection dating back around six years of Potter paraphernalia, including Harry, Ron and Hermione in various Christmas garbs.

For the simplest advent calendars made out of card, Bristol Guild on Park Street should be your destination of choice, with designs featuring everything from Moomins to dinosaurs.
Just over the road is Bird & Blend, with a selection of tea advent calendars.
And or something particularly luxurious, head to Cabot Circus to find Rituals, whose advent calendar this year features a snow-covered village, with a selection of products including home, body care and skincare found within the buildings.
