Celebrate 75 years at one of Bristol’s oldest garden shops
The Henleaze Garden Shop will be celebrating its 75th birthday this weekend.
After opening after the Second World War, the store stayed in the family and is now run by Matt Stenner.
The shop has been on Heanleaze Road for the best part of a century and has remained largely the same since opening in 1946.

On Friday November 12, the shop will be opening its doors to celebrate the occasion and will be welcoming people across Bristol with cake, bubbly and a secret sale.
A core part of the Henleaze community, the Henleaze Garden Shop has been seeing huge support from locals.
“The shop was started by my grandad at the end of the war. We have customers who have been coming for the whole 75 years. I had a customer who came in last week and said that she was here the week we opened,” said Matt.
Matt hopes to use this weekend as an opportunity to thank customers who showed support over the pandemic.
“During the lockdown, we had so much wonderful help and enthusiasm from customers. There were people doing big orders to keep us afloat. It was really quite breathtaking.”
