Christmas wish list no.6

By Sally Telford  Friday Dec 12, 2014

Kids are the best people to buy for at Christmas, they are worked up into a frenzy from all the chocolate and excitement and unwrapping gifts will always result in a great reaction, unless you get it wrong!

If it’s your kiddo you have probably been given a long list already – stick to it! If they are not your kiddo do your research – find out the current craze. Books are always a good gift, appreciated all year round even if they do not bring the most excited faces when they open them. A scooter, if they don’t already have one will be the big winner. Some classic gifts that any kiddo would love…

  1. Lego. The ultimate toy, I like the sets where you aren’t building anything, it’s free play – gets them thinking creatively. See what they make, it’ll be awesome.
  2. A pretend kitchen. I don’t know any kid that doesn’t like to copy Mum and Dad, pop this in your own kitchen and you never know they might leave your pots and pans alone!
  3. A cute backpack for day trips out will be endlessly useful and get them to start taking responsibility for their own stuff.
  4. Bright yellow wellington boots. All kids look great in yellow and they all love to splash in puddles. There are so necessary in January.
  5. A scooter. If they don’t already have one then why not? How long does it take you to get to school? This will ensure your journey takes just 10 minutes, however terrifying it becomes!
  6. Books. Go to a great independent store and tell them your kiddos age and books they like and let them guide you. There are so many wonderful books out there, the classics are great but explore the new ones too and you’ll find something beautiful.
