New garden centre opening in Clifton

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Mar 16, 2021

A new garden centre opening in Bristol is the second in a new format of small shops from the UK’s biggest garden centre retailer.

Little Dobbies will be the 70th centre to be opened by Dobbies, which was founded in 1865 by James Dobbie who created a business selling seeds.

The shop in Bristol follows the first Little Dobbies, which opened last year in the Stockbridge suburb of Edinburgh and also contains a cafe.

Little Dobbies on Whiteladies Road will offer a range of houseplants and gardening products, indoor and outdoor pots, home décor and gifts.

The shop in Clifton will be opening in the former RBS bank on the corner of Alma Road.

Within the South West, there are already Dobbies in Thornbury and Shepton Mallet.

Ahead of the opening of the first Little Dobbies in Scotland, CEO Graeme Jenkins said: “This is an exciting new venture for our team, as we launch the first Little Dobbies.

“The store will feature gardening essentials for city centre residents and will showcase some of the extensive ranges available at our larger stores and at dobbies.com.”
